4.The Whalley Santa Cause
Join a growing group of volunteers on Christmas day to help those in need by giving out Christmas hampers from 1-3 pm in Whalley.
The Whalley Santa Cause, founded in 2011, is a community event and anyone can volunteer. The group operates every December 25, giving out Christmas hampers full of toiletries, winter clothing and other essential items to the community’s most vulnerable.
This year, the Whalley Santa Cause organizers are asking for donations of new personal hygiene items such as deodorant, tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner, hair brushes, socks, and so on. Gently used sweaters, scarves and gloves are also highly needed.
Last year, more than 45 volunteers joined together to hand out hundreds of bags and boxes full of toiletries and winter clothing to those in need.
The Whalley Santa Cause walks as a group. Children under 18 must be with an adult. For more information, visit the event website, or contact Erica directly to arrange a time to drop off a donation.
